Blackorange × Airscale: making sure every opportunity has a reachable person behind it
Blackorange runs outbound and market-signal intelligence for founder-led B2B companies, as a one-person agency backed by AI. Airscale is the enrichment waterfall behind every SONAR™ opportunity: where single-source data can't find a verified email or phone, Airscale's layered providers find it. That rule keeps every opportunity something a client can actually act on.

Airscale changed how we deliver SONAR™. Every opportunity we hand a client now comes with a decision maker they can actually reach, and the gaps fill themselves instead of costing me hours. What used to be a fragile one-provider setup is now a layered system that just works.

About Blackorange
Blackorange is an Amsterdam outbound agency for founder-led B2B companies in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. It is run by one person with heavy AI support, so every part of the system has to work without someone checking it by hand.

Company: Blackorange, Amsterdam
Size: 1 person, AI-supported
Core offer: SONAR™, market-signal intelligence that turns buying moments into calls
The challenge: a great signal is worthless without a person to call
SONAR watches a client's market and flags companies that just moved into a buying moment: a succession question, a new owner, a leadership change. Clients include EOS Implementers, business coaches and trading companies. They don't want a list. They want three companies a week they can call today.
That sets a hard rule: no company reaches a client unless its decision maker has a verified work email at the company's own domain and a verified phone number. One data provider alone missed too often:
Gaps on the best opportunities. Owner-led and private companies are exactly where SONAR finds the strongest signals, and exactly where single-source data is thinnest.
Dead cards. A signal with no reachable person is a card the client can't act on, and it costs trust in everything else on the screen.
No one to fix it by hand. A one-person agency can't look up missing contacts manually every week.
How Blackorange uses Airscale
1. The waterfall behind every opportunity
Before: when single-source data found no verified contact, the company was dropped, even if its signal was the strongest of the week.
After: Airscale's waterfall runs on every gap. Only if it comes back empty is the company replaced by a newly found one. The client never sees a card without a reachable person.
2. LinkedIn URL first, then the email
Name plus domain is the weakest way to find someone. When that fails, Blackorange first resolves the person's LinkedIn profile through Airscale, then uses that profile to find the email. In one case, single-source data had no match at all; Airscale returned a verified address, checked through two verification services.
3. Built into the engine, not a browser tab
Airscale runs inside Blackorange's own systems through its API and MCP connection, so SONAR calls it directly during calibration and the weekly scans. Nobody opens a dashboard to fill a gap.
4. Fill rate as the quality bar
Blackorange watches the fill rate on every list. Above roughly 90%, the layered setup is doing its job, and that is the bar every list clears before it reaches a client.
The impact
| Before | With Airscale |
|---|---|
| Strong signals dropped for lack of a contact | +120% more actionable opportunities, each with a verified email and phone |
| Single provider, single point of failure | +85% more contacts found through Airscale's waterfall enrichment, with fill rate checked on every list |
| Gaps filled by hand, if at all | Filled automatically inside the SONAR engine |
One tip for other Airscale users
Treat refreshes as part of the system, not an afterthought. Blackorange sets its own refresh cadence for each list, so credits go to the companies that matter that week. And because Airscale credits roll over, nothing is lost in a quieter month.
Looking ahead
Blackorange is building the paid version of SONAR, which watches each client's market every weekday. Airscale scales with it: more companies watched means more contacts to find, and every one still has to be reachable.
"I don't sell lists. I sell three companies a week you can call today. Airscale is part of why I can promise that." Alfredo Silva, Founder, Blackorange
